    I was struggling to pinpoint an odd smell inside my home. I didn’t realize that one of my dracaena plants was blooming. It’s very pretty, but also slightly smelly (and sticky). 🪴

    A blooming stem of an indoor dracaena plant, with multiple small white flowers up and down the stem. Each flower has thin white petals, with some of them curling back toward the stem like curled ribbon to expose the delicate stamens in the center. At the base of the flowers and near the stem, there are clear droplets of sticky liquid from the flowers. There are a few tall, dark green, spearlike leaves of the dracaena plant itself blurred in the background behind the flower stem as well as the top of a terra cotta pot with another plant.

        Question for the seed germination experts. This is a water germination for a 2025 Venus Flytrap seed harvest and most everything looks correct as best I can tell for the seeds in the first picture (seed sprout and what appears to be mycorrhizal fungus filaments) but the second picture shows something I can't identify (the pink thing with fuzzy legs). Seed size is about 1cm. These are the best pics I could get from my setup. Does anyone recognize this?

          The Darlingtonia Californicas are back inside as the weather is heating up again and they require root cooling. The older indoor setup had a glass monitor stand with a USB fan under it but right now I am using refrigerated water and frozen picnic packs in the water trays. These are mostly easy to care for but you really need to avoid sudden heat spikes (learned that the hard way).

                  Decompose(d/ing) remnants of a Pumpkin sprawled on the driveway next to AC unit, with a randomly sprouted, since-transplanted vine that started its sprout journey in a crack between concrete and house foundation a few weeks ago.
                  They are growing fast as these lovely gourd plants do, and have visible blossom buds.
                  I wasn't trying but am now hoping they flower AND fertilise and I get to observe the rest of the process from gorgeous plant to fruit!!
