Haya critters! I am babbleing at you to ask about webrings, as my site currently is part of zero webrings. I want to support the open web, and discovery of smaller sites. So if you've got a webring that is either uncategorized, or is related to some of the things I do ( ) Or whatever other random things I do at this point, Feel free to send me a message. I'd love to become part of it.

St. Matthew’s Passion preparations. I put one or two of these little handwarmers in my trouser pockets and that keeps my whole body warm. Bought enough for the whole week. Too bad I didn’t remember this trick before the icy three hours in the audience last week!

Won’t need them today though, today’s concert is wearing choir robes and standing up singing. A couple of sweaters under the robes will do.

Two sachets of chemical hand warmers. The red package says things like ”extra warm” and ”12 hours”

[delayed post] Midweek New Music Roundup :: March 18-25 abuelaskpop.dreamwidth.org/731

This week's listing features new music from BTS, YUNA (ITZY), P1Harmony, DK (SEVENTEEN), plus many more!

Two screenshots in a distressed rainbow-hued frame (top and bottom bar only, red to blue left to right gradient) with a black to light grey slash from upper left to bottom right, the phrase Midweek New Music Roundup atop the divider. Above the bar, a young blonde Korean woman (YUNA of ITZY) in a pale cream fur coat standing in front of a freezer of ice creams. Below the slash, the seven members of BTS stand on the forequarter of a sailing ship, dressed in dark, vaguely naval-uniform style. Center bottom text reads March 18th - 25th.

Just watched the CFNY: The Spirit of Radio on TVO and it made me nostalgic for a time when radio meant everything. Also reminded me why I wrote Play It On My Radio books2read.com/u/4Dxgzg

I’ve found out that some of the computer programs originally written for John Cage’s musical experiments with chance, aleatorics, and non-serialism are still available online (albeit as shareware). Running them is just a matter of configuring DOSBox. It feels like opening a well-sealed time capsule with the contents preserved.

(On the contrary, when I think about reviving my school projects from around 7–10 years ago—node.js and all that—my head hurts.)

It's done! I started this (what I knew would be a) massive musical journey to determine my favorite album every year I've been alive on March 1 (of this year, 2026) and just finished today, March 13.

I wrote it up as a blog post here: spacetimetech.wordpress.com/20

There, I discuss the process, and provide the link to the full list on record.club, which is also here: record.club/jake4480/lists/one

like, if you don't wanna read all that (it's not too long), but I get TL:DR. 😂

                  This is so true 😎

A black-and-white internet meme featuring a vintage photograph of three young women.

Above the photo, the text reads: "Bauhaus art students in 1927 - Looking extraordinarily like some band I might have been listening to in 1982".

The three women in the image have short, messy, avant-garde haircuts and are wearing collared shirts or blouses. They are standing side-by-side against a wall with vertical panels, looking at the camera with serious, deadpan expressions that strongly resemble the moody aesthetic of a 1980s post-punk or new wave band.

I've been testing the Qobuz music streaming services, as a replacement for my current provider.  I like that they pay the artist more, but I'm struggling with some missing features.

Fats Domino was so amazing. I grew up listening to Elvis and the Beatles (and also some Fats and some other similar stuff on the radio). Fats influenced both the Beatles and Elvis so much- Elvis called him 'the real king of rock n' roll'- and he indeed was. He was before Chuck Berry. He influenced Chuck, Buddy Holly, everything that came after. Just a motherfuckin legend.

"Well, what they call rock n' roll now is rhythm and blues, I've been playing for 15 years in New Orleans."

("The Fat Man", written in 1949, really the first big, real rock n' roll song): youtu.be/CoNC1BF_nmo
