Just stumbled upon this masterpiece. It was a major hit in 1981 in Germany during the NDW (Neue Deutsche Welle - New German Wave) era.

This is quite an interesting piece. Created during a school project by some students. Die Marinas (English: The Marinas, it has nothing to do with death...) was Claudia Flohr (13 y.o.), Michelle Milewski (14 y.o.), Dagmar Petersen (13 y.o.), Isabelle Spelly (11 y.o.) und Kristine Süßmilch (12 y.o.) Andreas Dorau, the guy in the video and author of the song, was 15 and he sent the song against the will of his teacher to the music label Ata Tak, where it was rerecorded later.
The sequencer used for the music was borrowed from Kurt Dahlke, also known as Pryolator and was used in the earlier recordings of the band DAF until Robert Göhrl (DAF) could buy his own.

Last spin of the night won’t be for everyone, but this shit is RIGHT up my alley.

TOTALLY unhinged #hardcore #noise #punk whose sense of timing, rhythm, & madness I fully identify with.

This is the complete recorded output of the Fort Worth, Texas band; roughly one hour long, blasting through 30 songs of complete screamo violence.

It is wildly frantic, super-abrasive, and intensely chaotic. There is no singing. Just indecipherable high-pitched screaming amongst grating feedback and thick bass.

The first listen, I said “this is awful”.

The second, I said “Jesus, what the fuck?”

Third… “I kinda dig this…”

To finally surrendering with “This is fucking awesome.” 😂

Super-awesome etching on Side D, too, which may be the most calm and measured thing about this. 😂

Today was the first day of fall, and I was beyond thrilled to see this downtown today.

This album is synonymous with Autumn for me, and has been since the first time I heard it in the Fall of ‘92, when I dubbed it from my sister’s boyfriend’s tape collection.
So it was kinda fate that I finally found it on vinyl today, to help usher in my favorite season.

This was in my ears a lot at the beginning of each year of high school.
I had detention A LOT, and had a very long walk home from school after time served. I will always have a clear picture of walking up Oak St., this blasting in my ears, while the autumn New England leaves flew around.

Wonderful, dreamy, #shoegaze -y noise pop from a GREAT band.

Rose Royce - Car Wash: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

I’ve never seen Car Wash. I’ve always wanted to. I remember my older sister going to see this at the pictures and buying the album, so I was quite familiar with it before I picked it up second hand years later.

This album has some whopping hits on it, ranging from big slabs of funky disco to soulful, lush ballads. Giving it a re-listen, I was struck by the nearly 11-minute hypno-funk of Sunrise. Years ahead of the game.

What really dates this album though is the pressing of sides 1 and 3 on one disc and 2 and 4 on the other. This, if you recall was because turntables used to have automatic record stackers, so you could play the album in sequence.
