        THE TROUBLE MAKERS
The Great Lost Trouble Makers Album
        2013 U.S. reissue

Haven’t taken this one out for a spin in a long time.

        Super-cool -y from the posing as garage-y Lo-fi punk from the .

The album is deliberately unpolished; with killer, snarly guitars and really great, catchy riffs.

John Kiffmeyer (AKA Al Sobrante), who was Green Day’s original drummer, is listed as a producer here, which is…odd?

Regardless, a really fun album by four dudes from Sacramento.

I can't remember the last time I got or listened to a new album on release day, must be nearly 20 years! But I chose Anthrax's latest to come out of "album hype" retirement. I'm glad I did.

100% catchy on first listen. Spotted references from "The Stand" a la Among The Living. Lots of allusions to this being the end for them (like the recent Megadeth album) though they claim it's not their last. Sounds like a relic from the ancient past.

                          Refreshingly, unashamedly heavy.

                            ALBUM REVIEW - ABSOLUTE ELSEWHERE

This won't be a particularly long review, but I'm surprised I enjoyed this! Metal isn't my thing, let alone death metal, so I'll admit I was a little apprehensive going into this. I think I kinda get it now though because this is pretty good!! There were more melodic/synth moments in the album that I liked as a juxtaposition to the heavier parts, especially in the final track which I think is the best one. Other than that, I don't really have any other thoughts. Good album!

Badu's third album, is my favourite of hers and the only one I own. It got mixed reviews at the time but it's a solid album from start to finish and includes a Donald Byrd cover too!

I had come back from a four year old birthday party at the local railway museum and after a rotten sleep the night prior was in much need of some soothing tunes. This album is a great spring afternoon spin.

I bought this from Searchers in Melbourne in 2022 after hearing the track Mary et Jeff pumping through the shop. I plucked up the courage later to ask the guy what was playing. He was so thrilled to discuss this 70s French jazz fusion act I'd never heard of. I left briefly and then ran back and bought the album. It's now become one of the favourite records I own.

This is a 2020 repress and sounds great. If you fancy a first press there is one going for $2333 on discogs from France right now. Be quick!

Cortex started with two guys Alain Mion & Alain Gandolfi who look like the guys from my dad's old meteorology VHS tapes. What really makes this album is the voice of Mireille Dalbray (wife of Alain Mion). Think Flora Purim style vocals. Mireille apparently died shortly after this albums release. The other subsequent albums don't quite hit the same.

Music fans, do you have a favorite album or band/musician from the 80s? 🎺
I heard someone claim that nothing good came out of this decade but it can't be true. Can it?

Piano keyboards were designed for men. New Stanford-led research says that could put female and smaller-handed players at a disadvantage. Concert pianist and music professor Elizabeth Schumann spoke to Classic FM magazine about what it was like to try a narrower piano. "I felt like I’d been wearing the wrong size shoes my entire life."

Spouse, out of nowhere, decided, not only that she needed a but she needed a front-loading tray mechanism style to maintain her home decor vibe.

It has arrived via the eBay and its a beauty. Well packaged and incredibly heavy Sony PS-FL5 is sitting in the front room ready to be deployed. I've paired it with a Bluetooth preamp so that she can use her current PC speakers ... kind of jealous of her new vibe.

WUT! This is what they must mean by . I opened Spotify (reasons, don't judge) and the homepage said "New Release from Whiskeytown." Screenshot below.

For those who don't know Whiskeytown was Ryan Adams first band out of Raleigh, NC. He famously kicked the rest of the band to the curb and went solo as soon as he could despite the band becoming extremely successful. So there's a lot of bad blood there still to this day.

Clicked the song and it is DEFINITELY not Whiskeytown. As described above, there's no way that band would be releasing a new song or even an archival release.

This is pure straight up fraud. Someone released their track and put it under the name of an old band they figured no label was paying attention to.
