Good morning!
I have created this post to share a series of testimonies, including one I had when I was very young, most likely when I was a baby and near death due to the umbilical cord being wrapped around my neck, along with some testimonies from a few people I know. At the end, I also touch on hearing God's voice in the mind, and include some beautiful bible verses.
Although in this first event where I hear his voice aloud, at least from what I can recall he didn't say he was Christ, I know that it was he.
So read this tail in full and let me know your honest thoughts in reply or by other means. I'm beyond curious if you have had an experience like mine, or maybe even multiple? I encourage you to pronounce it for all to see in the replies if so.
Any biblical content (chapters or verses), are of the New American Standard Bible version.
I also encourage you, even if you don't necesarily believe in God, to just pray some time, attempt to reach out. Then pay attention to supposed coincidences, inklings or nudges in your mind, or experiences like what I describe here.
Then, if you do get or hear something, you can test its godly legitimacy by asking, did "Jesus Christ come in the flesh"? (1 John 4:1-2). If the answer is anything but yes, that spirit is not from/of God.
Testimonies of the Voice of Christ
The following adaptation of an post presents a few different instances of the audible voice of who I strongly believe to be Christ speaking. Now he probably doesn't sound like this all the time, and maybe some people have heard this differently. What's interesting to me, though, is that the voice that I and others have heard, if louder and of a harder tone, could resemble a trumpet blast as described in the book of Revelation, the end book of the bible. Let me know your thoughts.
My Experience
I was in this room, almost like a nursery, being rocked by someone. It's weird because sometimes when I recall this memory, this room has some background noise and has harder surfaces. Other times, it's very quiet and is more like a nursery, having carpet and cooler air.
However, the main detail is that I was being rocked by this presence who seemed like a man, but had this almost mother-like loving aspect to him. To this day, I'm not quite sure how to think about it. I know that Jesus is incredibly strong and is most definitely a man, but I suppose in this instance he presented himself in a softer demeanor. His voice reflected this state. It was higher in register, and soft, almost like when Michael Jackson speaks, somewhere around his vocal range. Later, I think my brain also partially associated his voice with the voice my mom used when she comforted me in a higher, softer tone when I was little.
So it was almost like his voice was this male voice infused with a mother-like love, and everything about him exuded peace and comfort. I remember him calming me down, as I was a little scared with what was going on. He was basically telling me that everything would be ok, and that I would be alright. I don't remember much else of what he said, or the exact words he used. I believe I asked him some questions as well, but I can't remember what they were.
What's crazy to me though, and what kinda confirms that this was Jesus were these following occurrences:
Friend 1
One time, I was talking with a friend from Texas about when or if we’ve ever heard God's voice. He told me about a time when he was around 6 or so, and having recurring nightmares. He transitioned from a nightmare into another dream, where he was standing in a room, in front of a chair-like thing with a man sitting on it.
He told me that then his mind made up what God's voice might sound like. He said, "It wasn't super deep like you'd expect God's voice to be". That inspired me to be like wait, did it sound like this? And then proceeded to describe what I had heard when I was little. He said that yes, that's exactly what his voice was like.
In this dream, he told my friend that everything would be ok, and that he was watching him. As in, watching over him and his life. After that meeting, none of those nightmares ever happened again.
My Sister's Experience
I had mentioned this to my sister later that night, because I thought it was the coolest thing, with the description of the higher register voice that was male but infused with this almost mother-like loving quality, and she said she thought she knew what I was talking about.
She didn't quite tell me what she experienced that same night, either because she couldn't quite remember or just didn't want to talk about it, but a couple weeks later it was brought up again and she told us more. He spoke to her in fourth grade when she was going through a tough time, but said that she can't exactly remember what words he spoke to her.
Friend 2
Crazier still, I described the voice to another friend of mine from Washington, and he knew what I was talking about even before I finished giving the description.
He proceeded to describe to me two instances of Jesus speaking, one time when he was just a baby. He was born premature, and had to be incubated. Due to his eye conditions, pressure was building in his head, and doctors expected that he would only live 48 hours. Jesus then spoke to him, and with each word he spoke, the pressure in his head lessened, and more life and strength seemed to flow into him.
Like me, he couldn't exactly remember what Jesus said, but remembered being aware enough to realize that his parents were sad because of his apparent soon to come death, and was able to communicate with Jesus, not with words, almost telepathically or on a deeper level, to ask him if he could calm his parents and let them know that everything was ok, because he didn’t want them to be sad.
His second instance was when he was having reoccuring, terrible nightmares.
He met Jesus in a dream, with the exact same voice described prior. He told him that these dreams would not bother him anymore, and that everything was ok. Sure enough, after that, the dreams never did bother him again.
Additional Experiences
This summer, I attended a work experience program for blind and visually impaired students. I described this voice to a few people sitting at a table, and one of the girls seemed to know what I was talking about, saying that she heard it in dreams when she was younger. One dream was regarding Judgement Day, during a time period that she said she was kind of scared of God and religious stuff. She couldn't really remember any specific details, though.
A job coach/staff member said that he thought he kinda knew what I was talking about, and that he may have heard the voice when he was a kid.
I told my story and the fact that multiple people have heard this voice in an office with a few people in it, and although no one in there seemed to know the voice I was talking about, one of the staff members told about when he fell off of a tractor and almost got ran over, he saw his dad standing over him. Very neat stuff. Might be slightly unrelated to the subject of hearing his voice, but I thought it was another good experience to include.
To Conclude
This passage from the book of Isaiah fits pretty well.
"As one whom his mother comforts,
so I will comfort you.”
— Isaiah 66:13
I would also like to add that I've heard God in my head a few times.
It's an indescribable feeling hearing him in your head. You hear him in your soul, literally. It's so beautiful.
When he speaks, it's like a voice that is native to your being, but different, and even with a word or a short phrase, meaning just blossoms in your mind to fit your wiring, how he made you to interpret the world.
I love describing it as a single drop of rain. It hits you and just expands, to encompass your whole mind in a sea of love, peace and knowing.
Or alternatively, it's a single drop of rain because his words just fall there, so potent and just so, there, full of beautiful truth. It may not be the most accurate way of describing it, I kind of took that idea from a song, but I hope this conveys this properly.
One instance of this was when I was on the bus this last school year, heading home. I was pretty miserable, and was on the brink of spiraling off the rails into the depths of chaotic thought when his voice spoke, small and still into the madness and said, "Calm".
My crazy train of thought slowly ground to an amazed halt.
Another instance is one that I am not proud of. My brother and I were heading home from Homecoming. I was happy because I was able to at one point dance with a whole circle of girls, and at another one on her own.
My brother was intending to ask someone to dance, but did not end up doing so, and told me as much. And although I very surface-levelly sympathized, I was not totally empathetic.
I believe he stopped to get gas and I asked him if he would be alright with going in and grabbing me something, and handed over my card. He responded angrily, and that dampened my mood and made me angry.
I was processing, and that same beautiful voice came to me, and very kindly showed me what I was failing to see, reminding me to think about how my brother must be feeling. I was definitely humbled that night.
Another experience I had was when I was kneeling, with my head on my bed, sobbing, reflecting on my failings and sin, and how I didn't know what I was going to do with my life.
I cried out to God in absolute anguish regarding my life saying, "I don't know what to do." That beautiful voice of the almighty Christ said, "It's ok to not know what to do".
I may have had more that I don't remember, I think I remember at least one more instance of him saying "Calm". Those are the main ones I remember, however.
God and his Christ love you all very much. No matter what you've done, no matter where you've been. Come as you are, and embark on the great adventure of transformation. Doesn't mean that life will magically be easier, but you will have an indescribable peace in knowing that he is on your side. And that is why,
"It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost. Yet for this reason I found mercy, so that in me as the foremost sinner Jesus Christ might demonstrate His perfect patience as an example for those who would believe in Him for eternal life." 1 Timothy 1:15-16.
""For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but so that the world might be saved through Him. The one who believes in Him is not judged; the one who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. And this is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the Light; for their deeds were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light, so that his deeds will not be exposed." John 3:16-20

I went downtown this morning out of sheer boredom and ended up coming home with a pile of really nice finds.

I decided to give this Sharp Pins record (which was in a used bin) a try, as over the last month, more than a few people told me I’d e joy it, and because I liked the small sample of stuff I tried online.

Really cool #lofi #indie #alternative pop that is a total “one man gang” effort by Chicago musician/artist Kai Slater.

This was recorded at both his home and personal studio in Chicago, and reminds me so much of the scruffy indie #90s music I grew up on, but there’s something extra here.
It’s also more jangly and #powerpop -ish than it is slacker rock. Along with the Sebadoh & Pavement vibes, there’s some Guided By Voices, some Beatles, even a little British Invasion shit.

Really cool record. 💥
