Flicking through from October 1986 and, amid the dizzying waves of nostalgia, I happened on the Pen Pals section... It's astounding to me that teenage boys and girls happily provided their names and addresses like this, and that YS printed them! A different time indeed...

Many MSX games were actually games that were patched with the aid of a debugging tool called PDS (usually by David Brioso or Álvaro mateos).

It consisted of a resident agent, a serial interface, and a bigger computer used for debugging. Many games were released with vestiges of the guest agent that allowed communication with the workstation. This game (The Untouchables) contains big portions of the resident agent. It could probably my rebuilt from fragments in different games.

Title: Daley Thompson's Olympic Challenge - Title (AY)
            Author: Jonathan Dunn

Alt...This image is a vibrant and nostalgic screenshot from the ZX Spectrum game "Daley Thompson's Olympic Challenge - Title (AY)". The retro 8-bit art style perfectly captures the spirit of the late 1980s computer gaming era. The loading screen or title screen features a pixelated depiction of Daley Thompson, the famous British Olympic athlete known for his success in the decathlon. The background is primarily blue with light blue horizontal stripes, creating a dynamic sense of movement. Text elements in bold, colorful fonts announce the game's title and upcoming events, including the Summer Olympics of 1988, impressively kick-starting the player's anticipation for a sports simulation game. This classic snapshot not only showcases the technical capabilities of the ZX Spectrum but also evokes memories of a golden age for British sports and gaming.
