I’ve found out that some of the computer programs originally written for John Cage’s musical experiments with chance, aleatorics, and non-serialism are still available online (albeit as shareware). Running them is just a matter of configuring DOSBox. It feels like opening a well-sealed time capsule with the contents preserved.
